Rock solid. The release is easy to operate, which I like. Very satisfying click when they lock up. Fit and finish is amazing, just like all Japanese made knives.

Took the words right outa me mouth... Wonderful knives Mark, they totally live up to the "Japanese Standard".

IC Cut stands for Ishikawa Cutlery. The HIRO line of knives is owned by them. IC Cut knives are made by a consortium of cutlers in Japan.
This knife has beautiful Stamina wood handles, stainless blades and nickel silver bolsters.
The run up on both of these knives is Seki tight.
Beautiful set Mark! ::tu:: :D I Like that smaller one! ::tu:: ::nod::

You could show em here also if you like. ::handshake:: ::shrug:: :D

Yesterday was something of a banner day...Three in the mail and one at a flea market:

In my quest to find folders from different countries, I have now acquired a Sheffield (the smaller stockman). I had presumed it is English, although nowhere does it actually say "England". It's pretty, but I'm not terribly impressed with the F&F. Oh well, I'm not spending much yet, since I know there's a lot that I don't know.

I also received a Mundial lockback from Brazil. It's shopworn, but otherwise unused, and has a nice feel to it.

The larger stockman is a Kutmaster. Pretty clean but dull as all get-out. It'll be good for practicing...

And last is a Jowika from Ireland that caught my eye at a flea market.

None of these is as gorgeous as some of the knives I see on here, but I like to think they have character...

Arriving today was this Henkles Green Bone Whittler. The jigging is a Herringbone pattern. 3 1/2". Half stops. Very precisely made, probably by Boker.

Thank you all for your comments. Mark, Sharpnshineyknives, observed that it was made to a higher standard than the typical Boker. I agree, As I remarked earlier it is made with exceptional precision. Even a much better runup than the average production. Mark has a very refined "eye" for quality.

I like it LA. There is a lot going on in that design. There is something I haven't seen before; I'm tempted to call it a double choil tho that surely is not correct. Liking the big swedge. What is the blade length please?
