A little earlier today, I purchased these four knives. First it's, as far as I can tell, an "unbranded", 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. I'll have to investigate the shield. Next, it's a Remington, single blade, two tools, "Bird Knife" pocket knife. I believe I'll replace the missing shield on this knife with a spent cartridge bottom, hopefully a Remington. Third, it's an ULSTER 63, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. Again, missing the shield. What is it with ULSTER 63's and missing shields? Last is a POWR-KRAFT, 3 blade, swelled center, "whittler" pocket knife. I can't tell from the pictures, but I hope it's stamped 84-11. They all look to be in good condition. When they arrive, each will receive a thorough inspection. I will take pictures and post them in the appropriate location(s). Not my pictures.

New_Windsor_NY wrote: Sat Jun 27, 2020 12:16 am I just bought this "knife" for best offer. It's a CAMILLUS, single blade, two tools, "Sunshine Biscuits" (shield) pocket knife. Besides the blade, the tools are supposed to be a cap lifter/bottle opener and a can opener. It looks like it's a 3 or 4 line tang stamp. I don't know what I'm going to do with it. But when it arrives, it'll get a helluva cleaning. Per the seller, the tools are rusted shut. Here it is, not my pictures.
Good luck fixing it up. Still looks salvageable. Looks like the results of cell gone bad.I've seen what it can do to a Boker Stockman it was on; as well as many knives surrounding it. I've got a Buck Creek that is in the beginning stages of outgassing (looking more yellowed than usual, mothball scent). I'm getting ready to start doing rehandles and blade replacements. I'm gonna need a better drill press than the current Harbor Freight we have (adjusting speed by changing belts is a pain; and it is very cheap and wobbly in operation) as well as an upright belt sander.

Thank you Cody. I don't have the knowledge to restore this, or any other knife. I may be able to take it apart. I may be able to remove SOME of the rust. But to clean everything, put new handles on it and reassemble the knife, the biggest virtue that I'm lacking is PATIENCE. I have absolutely none. What will happen, after much swearing and throwing of temper tantrums, is that this knife will end up at the bottom of the lake. I may try to have it restored by one of the VERY talented AAPK artisans.

Looks like a great lot! The Remington will be a good el-cheapo to throw in a gun bag. I'm getting one of the Camillus-made ones for my shotgun cleaning kit.

I found these two Schrades for $50 shipped. Etsy came through again. I only wanted the 96OT really, but I couldn't help getting the SC-505 with ducks since they offered free shipping over $30, and that was $5-10 saved. But, there weren't any decent $5-10 knives this seller had. They had two others, an LB-7, which was average priced; as well as a 194OT that was a little too beat up (blade had obviously seen too coarse of a sharpening job) for $20. I only focused on the two that seemed like a good value.

Schrade USA Old Timer 96OT Bearhead Trapper. Used, carried, sharpened, patina on blades. Pick and tweezers are still there. This is the cheapest I've ever seen an intact one. $25. Guy on Etsy I deal with quite regularly wants $30 for one that's got toothpicks for blades and missing both tweezers and pick.

Schrade USA Scrimshaw SC505 "Seagulls". Same cost as the 94OT. New in the box with paperwork, but it has been monogrammed in the panel. $25. The seller said SC506, and that's the Barlow. SC505 is the 8OT-based knife I'm halfway beginning to wonder if it's in the Barlow's box.

Unless something real special ( hint hint ... new in box first version Schrade made “301” hint hint) my last 4 knives of the year are inbound to my location as I type this.

1. New in box 72-80 Camillus made Buck 303
2. New in box 72-80 Camillus made Buck 307
3. New in box 67-71 Schrade made Buck 301
4 New without box 66-67 Schrade made Buck 301

I’ve been running pretty hot this year since I re configured my collecting. Moved over 100 -303’s out and brought in 10-301, 5-319, 6-307 that should hold me till 2021...or so I told the Mrs.
