Thanks Steve They're held on Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park.....8,000 acres of natural Florida wilderness with some man-made additions for camping and playing!

With my son away at college this fall has been slow for hunting and such.
I did manage to scratch out a deer during firearms season.

Thanks QS. Heavy frost that morning. I only JD time to archery hunt a couple of times this year. That morning was crisp.

Heading out to western PA this morning for the old opening day, firearms season on whitetails. Opening day is actually today but plans were made last year and could not be changed. PA revised the regs this year. Going with two brothers and a friend of mine. In fact the friend is who got me started with hunting, him, his dad and his uncles back in 79 or 80. He is the only one left from that crowd. Been looking forward to this all year. Sinnemahoning, PA is our destination, about 4 hours away. Hoping for a little snow, makes 'em easier to see. Maybe we'll see some elk too, we'll be in their range.

I will be off line until this coming Thursday. No TV, no cell service and no computers. That's how I can tell we're there.

Opening Day for rifles in Western Maryland. A guy hunting our property just bagged this 6 point, pretty decent body size too. My brother's German Shepherd, Greta, didn't want Duke, the German Shorthair Pointer, getting around it. I think she thought it was her dinner.

Thanks, OH. The duck shoot was slow. I got one bird.
We had an ice and snow front to come through and pushed the birds south. Was a good time in spite.

Same story here Colonel, great pics guys . Them deer look nice n' big and very healthy. That rack is a wall mounter red rider, congrats to the feller who bagged em'.
Your more then welcome to come and visit, make sure to bring the whole family and a passel of friends. We could set up a range day and home barbeque to make the visit all the more enjoyable .
Stove is in the house, living room to be exact. Dad hates the idea of a outdoor furnace. Traditional wood stove is absolutely the way to go, you loose so much efficiency by going outdoor. $ for $ much more cost effective, and it looks great too! Especially great bean/eggs fryer, and tea maker .

Wish we could show a picture of Bambi but he didn't cooperate with the grandsons this Thanksgiving week. However the Blue Gills in one of the ponds cooperated with our 3 1/2 year old grandson and his dad. This was his first fish!
