The 685 is your Imperial - I've got the same one in 'stagged' and there was also a toilet seat version with a blue steer head. Skip I'm gonna stretch one more time here for a cool old Schrade that is virtually unknown even amongst hardcore collectors. The 291 trapper was known as the 'Grizzly Bear' and this one still has the blade etch.knife7knut wrote:I'm not exactly sure which one you are referring to,but I assume it is the Craftsman.

This one is less of a stretch than the "flesh" one. We're barely hanging on by a thread, but still on point.jxr1197 wrote:Skip I'm gonna stretch one more time here for a cool old Schrade that is virtually unknown even amongst hardcore collectors. Great thread!
I don't know if these "qualify" but the handles certainly are suggestive of certain animals

Factoid. If anyone has a Weidmannsheil, the stag imprint meant the knife was for German sale while a boar imprint meant it was intended for sale in Austria.

Just yesterday I was giving some thought to acquiring that BD fixed blade. Decided against (for now) because there was no sheath offered.

QS, I see them with sheaths but never at a price I'm willing to pay. The only two I have are the ones from Japan. Some of those from Germany are really beautiful knives though.Quick Steel wrote:Just yesterday I was giving some thought to acquiring that BD fixed blade.
