I have bought several Great Eastern Cutlery (GEC) knives recently and have noticed that the tubes in which they are packed and shipped all have something in common. In addition to the large labels for Northfield, Tidioute, and Cigar, each tube has a small white label at one end. Upon this label is written in ink and by hand the Model # (23, 73, 53), Handle material, Year, EC for End Cap models, and the individual knife number.
I am not a handwriting expert but this information all seems to be written in the same feminine hand. I have 44 different GEC folding knives and they are mostly 2007 issue. Including 2006 there must be well over 100 different knives made by GEC in additions ranging between 5 or 10 up to 250 or possibly more. If my judgement is correct and these labels are all written by hand by the same person that is a LOT of writing! Can any one shed some light on this regarding who does all this writing? And why these labels are not produced using a computer data base and a printer? I'm not complaining, just curious.

Don,
With very few exceptions all I have seen have been the same hand. Seems like there were a handful written by a different person. I would also wager that Chis[tine] was the culprit.
If all were to be honest, she runs that place
Adds a personal touch, but does seem printed labels with only the serial number written in would aleviate a little work stress. But she is just one bad day away from bringing in a shotgun and cleaning house anyway
