Here are a few Red Bones I picked at a local gun show.

.....well...that didn't take long! About a week and a half of daily carry and the shield has magically disappeared. Kind of dissapointing as I am really liking the knife alot. Carries easy, is maintaining it's edge like a champ, the blade shape is super useful....I know Case will send me a new shield and I can glue it back in, just a little let down that I have to do it. Sure wish they would go back to pinning them on. Oh well, I guess it carries even lighter now!

Update...I called up Case and talked to a very nice lady on the phone who took my info and said she would get me a new shield out right away. 5 days later I received it in todays mail and popped it in with some loctite super glue, and am back in action. Kudos to Case for handling it in a quick and easy manner.

Greg, I saw a knife just like that one when I was in tenn. for the presidents tour at smkw. two weeks ago. It was sitting there all alone at the collectors counter. I was real tempted, but I was running short on money, so I left it there. Just wondering, were you at that event, and is that the same knife? Either way, It's a real beauty.

Greg, like I said , I was tempted, but at almost 500.00 I just could not have survived the rest of my stay. I did buy some real nice ones while I was there, will post some pictures when I can.

I put this one next to a 70's model and while the jigging pattern is different what really jumped out was how cheap the shield looks compared to the only slightly older model. A small thing maybe, but noticeable.

Yeah they got thinner in the 80's but I like the jigging all the way to the bolster.
