Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Yeah Will, you can see quite an influence. Mike Ran Marbles a few years, the Trail Buddy is a full tang Fieldcraft with better steel. This knife isn't the most practical one ever made but it's a rare one and I've hunted the stacked leather version for years.
Ken I would like to see your fixed blade collection when you get time. That's about all I collect anymore. GEC has a few new patterns I have to work in my to buy list. I'm nearly over the flu, knock on wood.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Here's a nice one my youngest son gave me for Christmas. Etched makers name "Dawson" on the blade. Don't know anything about the maker (Barry Dawson) but it's a quality knife, Micarta handle, sharp as h*ll. First Kydex sheath I've ever had on knife. When you push the knife into the sheath, makes a soft "click" sound and has a tactile feel when it seats. If you have a Kydex pistol holster you know what I'm talking about. Sheath will fit on belt or slide into pants pocket.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I'm probably telling you something you already know but take some fine sandpaper and sand the first inch or so and wash it out good with soap and water. It will reduce the kydex scratching the coating.
That is a very nice knife.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Thanks guys. My son picked up three of his (Barry Dawson) knives at a small gun shop. I never heard of him before but I'm impressed with his workmanship.
Josh, you're right he calls it a "pocket knife" on his website, I think cuz it's small enough to fit in your pants pocket. It's not a folder though. Looks like he offers several different options for blade styles and handle materials.
Tank, thanks for the tip on the Kydex. I have two Kydex holsters but they're for EDC not collector pistols so haven't been too concerned about scratches.
Think I'll try your tip though.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Here's a couple of knives you don't see everyday. A 516-5 and a 5finn, both with second cut stag handles. The 516 is pretty much mint as you can see, but the 5finn has been rode hard(very hard!), and put up wet. In all the years that I have been browsing ebay, I have only seen maybe 2 or 3 of these 5finns with sc stag handles.
