I have seen similar type in books but never online for sale. All I can say is wow I sure wish I could afford it. It looks like it is worth every penny. Very nice

I would say you are very right, in that condition anyway.
I can't find any information on that tool other than Oxford st is a major road in the City of Westminster in the West End of London, sure would like to find out more. Sounds like a mission lol

I don't know if this means anything but in the London International Exhibition 1871 - 1873 Popular Edition of the Official Catalogue, Fine Arts and Industrial Departments there is reference to:

Nash, S. (Nash Swan?) 253 Oxford Street, London - Table, Desert, Carving Knives & Forks with Patent fastened handles.

Not sure if they made folders, hunters, or axes but may be a starting place for research.

I put the knife hatchet tool on my watch list just to see what it went for.
With 7 hrs left still no bid, I am wondering at this point if it will get listed

Looks like someone has an itch to scratch. 1 bid. The other interesting thing that I just noticed is where this knife is located. San Juan Bautista Mission. I remember going on a field trip there as a kid and seeing some cool stuff like this. Wonder if they are selling off some of their stuff?

How does the seller know that it is Victorian era if he/she knows nothing about the knife? Oops. Just noticed the auction is over. Would like to know more about this one. Think I'll ask the seller if they know more now.
