A New Arrival

Former Schrade President Walley Gardner and principal Joe Hufnagel joined with nine master cutlers to form a group of US craftsmen with over 300 years of combined knife making experience to create Canal Street Cutlery. It was first located in upstate New York where a long and rich tradition of quality knife making dates back to the 19th century. Unfortunately, the company closed its doors in 2015, but not before making some great knives. The brand was resurrected in 2018 as Canal Street Cutlery Co-Op & focused on making very small batches of high quality traditional knives. As a Co-Op, it was owned by the knife makers who worked there. Unfortunately, the business model couldn't hold up & the entity again ceased production.

A New Arrival

After the barrage of beauties from Randy yesterday, I figured I'd show off my Reclaimed American Chestnut, 3 3/4" "Pinch" Lock Back. Having ordered it from a retailer in Oregon on Friday it arrived in today's post and it is a thing of beauty. Advertised by some as Worm Hole Chestnut I can cheerfully state that mine came complete with the worm holes. ::tu::

I'll spend the next several hours ogling it, but first impressions are very positive.

Don't sweat it. You're not the only one. I fail to read on occasion. ::facepalm::

Wish I could get the hang of taking pictures as clear, bright and well composed as those.

I process them with the photo editor on Flickr. And I take 30 pictures to get a few good ones.

I use Photoscape, a free editor I downloaded off the Internet. I'm pretty pleased with it. It has been able to make some pretty rasty pictures acceptable but nothing like yours. My problem is GIGO.

I'm still waiting on that PM.
