Camillus Military Knives

Very nice display Acourvil. Moss I believe the Mark 2's are the same...both guard stampings are in Cole's book. I wonder when Camillus quit making the Mark 2...I always thought mine was made during the Viet Nam era...it seems in to good shape for a WW2 knife. WB

In late 1943 the stampings were moved to the guard. Mark 2's made during WWII have the ends of the guard angled toward the handle.

Mark 2's made during the Viet Nam War were stamped "U.S." over "CAMILLUS,N.Y." and had straight guards. In late 1974 "N.Y." was dropped from the stamping.

Is great. As a follow up question, Have you any idea of the proper sheath and its marking for at least the Camillus knife. I am showing a photo of one that I hope is right but I do not think is correct.

Hey i have one of the camilus top gun knifes in new condition with no box and i have been looking every where for info on it date it was made value who it was made for any info on it would be great

First what a nice knife.
Second, I just wonder how badly it would tick off the guy who interrupted your dinner while you were opening a can of deviled ham and you stabbed him 15-20 times with that can opener blade. Nasty little devil with that rim stud on it.
