Re: Show off your fixed blades!
This is a skinner made by Lone Wolf knives in2007 then embelished by David Yellowhorse. It was a gift to me back in 2008. It's not something I would buy but it is done up nicely. I real feel that all the Native American knife embelishers have saturated their own market with overpriced knives. I think it would be better to see a creation from Yellowhorse done start to finish instead of using every Tom, Dick and knife companies pattern ideas. Anyway take a look at this knife and tell me what you think.
Thanks,

That is one sweet Yellowhorse, wasu!
Welder Bob, looks like that top edge is sharp too, bet the tip is like a needle point.
Sasquatch, does that knife have a metal star on the pommel? Pretty sweet knife.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
How about a "boys" fixed blade knife!
This one is made by Prov. Cut. Co. and they called it the "Safari."
Gotta love the cut-out in the sheath for the blade stamping!
Also gotta thank 313 Mike for pointing this one out to me at auction.
Thanks Mike!

Here's a Marbles Ideal that's 8 3/4" long. It's actually close to the same size as my Western Boy Scout knife and a 9" CASE 365SAB. I'd like to know more about it if you can tell me.
Thanks,

The kydex sheath puts a death grip on that knife and it does leave small, fine scratches every time you remove it.

Great knives everyone.
The Marbles Ideal is one of my Grail knives.I'm currently watching one on Ebay, wish me luck.
I suppose Kydex has its place but I loathe it.

Tank I'm right there on the same page with you when it comes to the kydex sheaths.
Here's a fixed blade custom made by Jason Fry down it Texas. He made this one from the leaf spring of a 1958 Ford pickup truck. I've posted this one before on another thread but, hey, I'm quite proud of it!

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Wazu, the left facing serif (middle line hook on the "A" in the word "MARBLES" dates your knife between 1911 and 1930. Does it have a 1/2" or 3/8" pommel nut? An Ideal like yours with stacked leather handle and aluminum pommel books for $125-$425, but are you sure it measures 8 3/4"? The largest Ideal I can find measures 8".wazu013 wrote:Here's a Marbles Ideal that's 8 3/4" long. It's actually close to the same size as my Western Boy Scout knife and a 9" CASE 365SAB. Re: Show off your fixed blades!
I think wazu is thinking knife length and 1967 is thinking blade length. Here is an Ideal with a nominal 7 inch blade, now a bit over 6 3/4 inches, but it may never have been quite the full 7 inches (?). If anyone has an original sheath lying about for this knife I would gladly add it.

Just acquired a Jerry Fisk Bowie, one of my two grail knives. From his early years but already a Master Smith. Mint.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Thank you Tank. What is stunning for me is what happens when I pick it up. Tho the blade is about 91/2 inches it feels incredibly light and is the fastest handling large knife I've ever encountered. I believe it is the balance which gives the knife its' handling characteristics. The balance point is at the back of the ricasso right up against the s guard.

Re: Show off your fixed blades!
Sorry about that guys! I had a knock-down-drag-out with my photobucket account. As a result all of my pics disappeared.
I'm back up and running but I really dislike the new format photobucket is using now. Can anyone suggest a different photo sharing site?
Here is a fixed blade I recently acquired, mint with original box and papers!

Charlie, nice Scrimshaw Schrade (say that fast three times!) Why don't you take a look at Hunt101 for a photo hosting website? I have been on there for years now, VERY gun, knife, and trophy hunting picture friendly, no charge, and I haven't run onto any limits yet. OH

The heart of my collection is all Case canoes. I collect other knives as well though.
Here's another fixed blade I picked up just before I crashed my photobucket.

Thanks, Tank. I'll check that one out too.
Thanks for the comment Quick Steel.
Those USA Schrades are getting harder to find and more expensive to buy! Especially in mint condition. I found that one in the member stores here on AAPK.
