First Case Saddlehorn

Hi guys I've been wanting a Saddlehorn for awhile, the older kind with the big spey blade. Picked this one up on ebay, its the 1999 NKCA, number 264 of 1535. Sold for 69.99, books at 130.00 now, I gave 46.00

i think more of a skinner/spey.

It is a pretty big saddlehorn blade, but I agree with Johnnie its a bigger than normal skinner/spey blade...Here are a couple examples of Cotton Sampler blades..

Thanks guys. I may be off on calling it a spey. Older Classics and XX Tested had this type of blade but I've never seen its "technical" name.

Nice Saddlehorn for sure. They made two of these for the NKCA. One in 1991 and the other in 1999.

Both are fine examples.

I've got one of those I had ordered through the NKCA back in '99.
Nice enough knife, but if it were used, that spey blade sticks up a tad too much making the grip somewhat uncomfortable imho.

One thing those pix (above) don't show is just how "red" those scales are!

Tank I used to think that was called Cotton Sampler blade but was told it's a Beaver Tail Clip blade.
