I have a knife where the blade is marked MM89. From my research that indicates it's a master mechanic. The pictures I've seen of them have Master Mechanic on the knife. However, this one has Old Timer on the knife.
Is this normal? Is it a mixed up mess, a Master Mechanic or an Old Timer?
Any information much appreciated.
Thanks
Old Timer or Master Mechanic or both

Well, it's definitely the 89OT.
I forget why the master mechanic was used......I think it was a SFO for somebody.

Lexus,
The Schrade Master Mechanic knives were sold at True Value Hardware Stores
I've seen them with both Master Mechanic and Old Timer on the shields

I have this same knife in a second. It is also stamped MM89.
And Ozzie is correct, of course.

Re: Old Timer or Master Mechanic or both
Schrade produced a lot of knives for True Value Hardware ! They were produced with the master Mechanic Shield and the Old Timer shields. Many of the Master Mechanics also had an etching on the main blades.
