Look what was in the mail box this morning! This #39 Queen came from CCBill and is shown beside the one it will eventually replace. There are lots of miles left in the old one (maybe more than in me), but its nice to have an almost new one in reserve. You can see the difference in the blades and if you look close at the old one, you can see the ''easy-open" notch I had to make to open the skinning blade. Treefarmer

Those are super nice knives Treefarmer! Matchin set.
Here's one that came in the mail today.
Hammer Brand 45 to 55 stamp, Ive seen maybe 3 of these slanted bolster and shielded shells. To find one in NOS condition is pretty tough to do.

There's nothing wrong with that knife Scott. You did a fine job, considering what you had to work with. You can't make perfection out of thin air.

Yeah Scott, I always look at it this way. Does the knife function as a good working knife? Yes! Does it look better than it did when you got it? YES,,,,,,,Perfect!
Hey goldpan, looks like you got a super fine condition older Barlow.

Good points to consider Perry. Thanks.
Outside of the handles being loose and a missing bail it is a good knife!

You can actually pinch those handles back on tighter Scott, if you have some needlenose plyers but be careful.
