I had the pleasure of using a little utility knife this week that really impressed me. It's not your normal slipjoint but that is actually why I got to use it. A while back in a knife trade with JohnnieRotten I received a Swiss Tech Utiliy Key. This little knife looks like a normal key that goes on your key ring but it opens up and can be used for all kinds of uses.
I went to California this week to check out the condition of the citrus after the hard freeze. One of the things we had to do was cut fruit and look for damage. But as you know we are not allowed to carry knives while using air travel these days and we did the carry on thing and did not check in our luggage. So when we got out to the field we realized that we had goofed and did not have a knife
So in these days of Gestapo, Homeland Security or whatever you want to call it there are still ways to get things done...Oh yeah I did get stopped by security and reprimanded on the way back for not having my 1 qt see thru freezer bag that is requred these days to hold your toothpaste and other essentials. It seems that I should have known better than put that bag in my little leather bag that is designed for that kind of stuff in the first place and had passed through every other inspection at the other airports, I was supposed to have it loose in my carry-on..
