"THESE ARE TEST RUN KNIVES VERY RARE AND WILL BE HIGHLY COLLECTABLE!!"

Serial #5 and serial #8 are "test run knives"? I guess I just don't know too much about Great Eastern and how they do things.

Just for clarification, factory test runs are not priced like all others. Dealers have a little more flexibility in setting the price. I don't expect he had more than $260 in the pair; so it was a good quick turnaround if he wasn't tickled with the red stag. Now $103 would be breaking the factory agreement unless it were an EDC model; but anywhere between $123 (a loss after finance charges) and $175 would be fair game.

ALRIGHT, Barry I made $45 off each knife. Total 90 is what i cleared. I did pick some up for really cheap! Must have been a distributors listing error. I sold these because i have close to a grand in these red elks. Gotta pays bills too. I hated to sell these they are perfect the best I've ever seen from GEC!!

The record price has to be that guy that went to the open house and bought 2 lazerbone whalers!!! First one sold for close to 500 (i think) the person who bought it posts on here all the time. (I won't throw his name out that's his business.) Second one sold for around 400.00 So he had 460 ish invested plus time travel ect ect Probably made 400-500 off those knives booked marked him on the bay he did it for the $$$$ not the love of GEC.

Monk thanks for the stand up!!!!

Stephen Glad you got the last one. Kinda wanted to keep it in the AAPK family I left it on there, felt kinda guilty for buying so many ::shrug::

BH you hit it right on the head my man---- damn i hated selling these still haven't received money maybe hell back out!!! Won't bother me a bit.

Big Mike, What's going on Prices were erratic on these? Must have been listing error had to of been!!! Test Run was red elk handles ????

My favorite knife GEC has put out to date ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds:: ::ds::

Jay, those ARE the best that GEC has done imo.......I kinda hope your guy doesn't pay, and you can keep them, LOL. ::tu::
I have purchased 7 (2 are not arrived, and slim chance they wont happen?) and the price avg was $130.48.
If I had seen any at $103, I would have purchased them all Stephen.................and congrats Jay, WOW!! ::nod::

Jay, I didn't mean that the price was too high or anything like that; I simply was making a statement about the percieved value of the red elk 72's. I agree that they are beautiful and one of my fav's as well. Personally, with the number of knives produced, I think the value will only go up; especially considering the problems GEC had with that material. I also bought a couple of the white models (from a distributor) at what I consider to be an excellent price. (These do not have the factory test run etch.) Listing errors do happen, and I am guilty of it as well, but I just want to clarify that I don't consider the price you listed (the pair at) out-of-line. In fact, I'm glad they sold at that price as I feel it increases the value of all the red elks, overall. Supply and demand is what drives the economy, and I meant no disrespect in making the "record price" comment.

By the way, nice looking batch of red elks! That's the most I've seen in one place!

Very nice, Monk. Kinda sucks that we won't see the use of red elk anymore. :( I think it trumps their latest red stag by quite a bit.

Anyone have any idea why GEC is putting that high polish on the handles and do you like it? I'm not all that thrilled with it.
