spring byrd

Post by sonictek »

To commemorate the coming of Spring (finally!) to the northeast - although you never know around here in CT - I ordered a Robin2 SS in full SpyderEdge to try out the Byrd line. I got a Tenacious for Xmas and have since picked up the Persistence and a UKPK Slipit. All are really nice and and I like 'em a lot! If I was expecting some lower quality, I was disappointed. It feels really good and solid in hand, easy to open and close with solid lock and snap. A little small for my biggish hands, but not too bad - but then, I've been using a Kershaw OD-2 lately. Saving up for the new Ruger LC9 9mm, but there might be an extra $20 laying around for another Byrd!

I like byrd, i had a meadowlark for a while with the FRN handles and a finch, i have seen the robin with ss handles like yours but without the serations , looks like a very usefull rescue knife, there really well made, ::tu::

I don't prefer to carry the serrated knives myself, but I wanted to see what the Byrd line was all about. I got this off The Bay from a seller I like and it was the only Byrd he had. Only got $20 tied up in it so I'm pretty happy with the quality for now. If I get another one it'll be with the FRN or G-10 handle. My next purchase will probably be a Spyderco Ambitious, Delica, or Native.
