Two old and Rare Tang Stamps - Can you help with Number two?

I can across two unusual knife blades and would like to ask for help with identifying one of the two tang stamps. These were found, along with other stamps, in an old barn near Canastota, NY. I believe these blades were from the 1875 to 1895 time period. One other one is stamped “CANASTOTA N.Y.”
The first blade is stamped “(EYE) CUT” with a star below. The (EYE) is actually a graphic eye in the stamp -see below. Goins’ Encyclopedia identifies it as made by the Canastota Knife Co. (c. 1875 – 1895).
The second blade is stamped “I. CUT” with a star below. I am thinking that the “I” and the graphic EYE are the same company, maybe with a tang stamp designer that spelled phonetically. What say you?

I would say that the star below the stamp would most definately indicate both blades were made in the same place.

safe bet to say same maker of each.

Seems unlikely those stamps would come from anywhere else but Canastota. Unless the maker brought the brand from Sheffield.

The blades look like they came from the same source, if you ignore the markings . . . . . .
