Re: Knives in the Wild
Some fine pics, Sarge, Dog and Scott! We took a four mile hike today. Took my Kershaw flipper.

Re: Knives in the Wild
Went on a hike today as part of our lesson and tour on the water cycle. Ended up at the lake by the clean water discharge from the nearby treatment facility. Had three knives on me, posted one of these pictures in the edc thread and technically the rite edge was photographed afterwards inside. Ripe for foraging on the hike today were wild grapes, plums, apples, crab apples in a common red variety, and also this yellow that I've never encountered before today. The red are edible but usually quite bitter. These yellow are not very fleshy but the flavor is vibrant and crisp. I could only reach a few, the rest are high in the sky. If you zoom in on that tree with the sky background, you'll see that it's laden, but beyond reach. Shame, they're delightful.
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Re: Knives in the Wild
Not far from where we live - a nature preserve managed by the state. Not real large because it butts up to a residential area on one side and Ft. Bragg land on the other, but large enough to give us a good four mile loop. We prefer driving about an hour away to Uwharrie Forest, federal land, in the next county. Uwharrie is HUGE with miles and miles of trails, so you feel like you’re really out in the woods. Sometimes, for the sake of time, it’s just easier to drive 20 minutes to the nature preserve - and, yes, it is a beautiful trail. Thanks, Scott!

Re: Knives in the Wild
Need to get this thread going again!
Took a hike today at Jordan Lake in central NC. It’s a big ‘un - almost 14,000 acres! The trail was 5.7 miles and hilly. Enough for this old guy. Took along my old Queen, my Boker Barlow, and one of two Kershaw flippers I always take on hikes. Sunny day, mid-sixties, awesome!

Real nice Buck and Victorinox, Scott! Great pix.
Went for a hike today and took this little Rough Ryder lockback with me. I like it a lot. Only 3 1/4 inches closed, it’s perfect for the pocket.
