E Bruckmann knives

Post by timdog44 »

I have come into possession of some knives of which the brand is unfamiliar to me. E Bruckmann is the brand and the maker. He died sometime in the mid 1950s and that is when manufacture of these was stopped. I got my hands on one and thought it to be well built, good looking and very much functional.

I remember seeing these knives advertised in the knife magazines in the 1970's. I think Atlanta Cutlery sold them for about 13 bucks and they were old stock then.

In my never to be humble opinion  , Bruckmann was a high quality and under-appreciated knife brand. I believe they were the last company to use a true crocus polish on their blades. Fine knives and I don't recall ever seeing a Bruckmann large pattern knife. Their pearl handles are super.

I came across one a few months ago. It's a fine knife, very well made and really sharp!

I have a couple...
Bruckmann 2-10-24.jpg

They are a finely made knife.

Ray, if you look at my pic, there are some larger ones on the left side. Not sure if that is what you were referring to. They did make a ton of those corkscrew knives though, didn't they?

Wow! Glenn has cornered the market on Bruckmanns. 8)
Actually, what I had in mind was a folding hunter type pattern when I commented about 'large pattern knives'.

They made some wonderful pearl handled multibladed knives.

Pretty sure I have one here somewhere etched Abercrombie & Fitch.

Jim Parker had a box of pearl handled knives that had been damaged in a fire.

I bought one and had Herb Aycock clean it up for Sarah.

Not quite sure where it is; possibly in the guest bedroom in the dresser or secretary.

I had owned this little lobster for a long time before I noticed that it does not have liners. The blades have been pinned straight to the pearl. I’m guessing some old cutler was showing off a little. It has a pearl spacer as well.
