Posted this 5-dot, USA, 225L SS elsewhere. Found in a box of knives on the counter of a used furniture store. Not my thing. Any NASCAR/Case fans, pm me if you like it. Certainly not a high dollar item. J.O'.

Here's a group shot of my 2 new Antique Smooth Bone additions (Sowbelly and Razor) with one from 2017 (Tribal Lock). The 2024s are a little darker, but I think they still look good with the Bomb shield.

I recently picked up this 2 and 3/4 inch Case pen in a group of small knives. It is a 62033 SS, with one dot indicating 1989 made date. As you can see, the master blade has been tipped, so it will require a little work to reprofile it. I think I will go with a mini Wharncliffe for the reprofile.

I have the same knife with the same issue, but it had been bench grinder sharpened also. I’m profiling and grinding the angle for detail whittling.

Isn't the back of a sheepsfoot blade parallel to the cutting edge?

I always thought it had more to do with the steepness of the curve from spine to tip
(sorry to post these Queens in a Case thread, but they were handy for illustration purposes)

I like it, OC! I think it should be called an Eagles Head blade.. It reminds me of this without the hook..

I shall retract my calling it a Wharncliffe and will from this point on call it an eagles head blade. lol

Apparently the Wharncliffe blade got its name from Lord Wharncliffe, a 19th-century English nobleman and not an animal like the sheepfoot blade. Lord Wharncliffe is credited with commissioning the design from Joseph Rodgers & Son. He wanted a broad, strong blade unlike the narrow blades of the time.
