I ordered a knife from them a couple of months ago, they were having a sale, ::hmm:: so, I was happy with the price and fast shipping. I had no problems whatsoever.

I’ve ordered from them a couple times and I was happy with all aspects of the transactions.

I think they do a lot of drop shipping because my orders did not ship from Chicago.

I've noticed a lot of knife dealers located all across the US, but my orders always had a Marion, VA return address. That's the town where Blue Ridge Knives, a major distributor is located.

I strongly strongly suspect there's a lot of knife sellers who have arrangements to list the items, but the inventory and shipping is handled by Blue Ridge. I've noticed that Chicago Knife Works does a lot of "clearance" type stuff with parts from closed knife companies. Also, of note, is that they have a bunch of Bear and Son-made knives made for the now-closed Hard Hat Knives dirt cheap.

I have used CKW on several occasions. I have always been satisfied with their customer service but have returned a couple of sub-par knives. They handle returns quickly and efficiently.

I’ve done business with them, and Have had good results. A little tip. Sometimes their customer service people don’t pick up on the first call…
But, I called the “corporate” number, and got the owner on the phone, first ring. My issues were immediately resolved, and he discounted me 10% for my troubles.
They occasionally have sales, over the usual holidays, where they do deep discounts on highend items. Only retailer that I know of that discount American Tomahawk Company products….

I'm trying to make an order on their website and I am not too happy with the shipping charges... $15 for one fixed blade knife w/a 6-inch blade. ::uc:: Too much for me, ::td:: looks like I will cancel the order and look elsewhere. :x

Free shipping over $100 spent ... so I want a knife that is $110... ::paranoid:: but no free shipping if the order is over 1 lb. ::skeptic:: the knife weight is 1.2 lbs. ... So the shipping jumps to $15 ::uc:: .... soooo.... no order from me! ::huff::

I thought I would resurrect this old thread to give everyone a heads up on the current state of Chicago Knife Works of Morton Grove, IL. I ordered a Rough Ryder Reserve Easy Open Tear Jerk? (Jack?) on June 4, 2026. My credit card was charged on that day. On June 23. 2026 I received an email stating my order had shipped. However, the tracking information showed the mailing label was created in Marion, VA. Blue Ridge Knives, of Marion, VA, is CKW's shipper. As of today, July 9, 2026, my order status is unchanged. After communicating several times with CKW Customer Service and being thanked for my patience but not given any real information on the status of my order; I communicated directly with Blue Ridge Knives and was told I would need to take the matter up with CKW. I emailed both Customer Service Departments a couple of days ago but have received no response from either. I just instituted a return in my CKW account and am impatiently awaiting a response. I have dealt with CKW several times in the past with no problems but will not be doing so again. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Thanks for this heads up. I presently have several things in my cart there, but can get those elsewhere.

Well, I got a reply from my return request much quicker than I expected.
"Your Return request has been received . We will be looking into within 1 business day." Anxious to see what becomes of this now.

And I did tell them that with their level of Customer Service they should ship me the knife and refund my money. You think that bird will fly?

Well after 5 days, though I guess only 3 "business days", what has become of this is absolutely nothing, I tried calling and got a message saying, "All representatives are currently busy. Please contact us by email." I have emailed multiple times but still have heard nothing and have received no further communication from CKW, except almost daily emails touting knives that are "On Sale". I think I'll pass on ordering anything for the foreseeable future.

To update: Today I received an email saying my return has been completed. The problem with that is my refund has not been processed.

Seems the last couple times I ordered it took forever to fill my request, then the run around replying back to me. Haven’t shopped with them this year and seems it’s still going on . Hopefully 🙏 you get your money back
