Ditto for me, Mark. It seems you and I have amazingly similar tastes and experiences in our respective knife collecting journeys. Back when my focus was on collecting knives with different/unusual locking mechanisms, I discovered the Paul Axiel Lock and fell in love with it. My first purchase was the Perfecto (because of the Wharncliffe blade, naturally), but soon collected the others in the photo below (as well as a Defender with checkered Cocobolo handle like the one Marco recently got). Then during the height of my romance with Elephant Ivory, I had Ivoryman modify them with genuine E. Ivory.

My Lone Wolf Paul sub-collection currently consists of only these three: my two favorites from the ivory group and a Limited Edition Black Lip Pearl Executive (my second favorite model of the Paul knives)

Wow! Nice Q. Our tastes do run the same, I’ve noticed that too. You never cease to amaze with the great knives you have collected over the years. I know that I would never have had the privilege of handling so many great knives and keeping so many if I hadn’t started my store. I’ve had a few thousand knives go through my hands since and it’s knives like these Lone Wolf knives that I live for. This Axiel Lock is something that impressed me when I first bought the presto with the tiger eye. Should have gone after more of these while they were still in business, but it was hard for me to spend the money on one Lone Wolf knife when I could get 3 Case knives for the same money. I woke up finally to that nonsense a bit late. Now I would much rather forgo buying 3 knives for the same money as one Lone Wolf. These Lone Wolf knives are worth sacrificing the 3 for 1.

As per your style, ~Q~, your collection of Paul's is incredible! I really like how you and I-man converted them all to ivory.
One thing I'm wondering about is, which knife in your pictures are you calling your "Defender", because the model I posted and have always referred to as their Defender, is somewhat different from any in your pictures. Mine has both ends tapering down to a point, similar to their "Perfecto" shape, but not identical.
My knife has "First Production Run" etched on the blade, I wonder if they changed the style after the first batch?
I have my sights set on a "Perfecto" next!
I'm looking for a set of G-10 covers to replace the weathered checkered cocobolo covers my Defender came with, or ANY different covers actually, any chance you still have the one's you replaced with ivory from your Defender and are willing to part with them? Kindly let me know!

Mark and Q, You both have breathtaking collections. I could write pages on how much I like each of Mark's covers. Apple coral has always caught my eye and the two-tone cocobolo is nifty as all get out. Different but just as marvelous, Q, is the rich elegance of your ivory covers.

The Defender I used to own is not pictured...I sold it a number of years ago (prior to having the ivory mods done on my other Paul knives) and I can't find any old photos of it...but it looked exactly like your Defender.

A few Smith & Wesson knives.The 2 wood handled folders and the stag fixed blade are the 1st models they made. The 2 large folders, the funny folder, and the small lockback are also USA made; the other 2 are Pacific Rim models.

Thank you Garry. I was purging my collection of ivory a few years ago and avoiding ivory because I thought it was going to be so hard to move out of eventually. But I just can’t resist the lure.
