I like sleeveboard lobster pattern. Here are a couple. The cream coloured one is ivorine which I think is some sort of composite material made with a 'grain' to look like ivory. I am looking for a real ivory one. s-k

There was an explanation given for Ivorine on Knives Live the other night. Ivorine is made from a by-product of milk that is turned into a resin and made into scales.

They had a very limited edition knife with Ivorine scales which is why it came up.

I believe the byproduct in question is Casein...

I'm pretty sure Case used some Casein on knife handles a couple of years ago. They resembled celluloid, but I can't seem to find the pictures.

I've enjoyed reading about each's poison so thought I would contribute. Lately, for work, my poison has been a 1972 case barlow or a queen canoe with 1095 blades. On Sunday it's either an eisenhower with harvest orange handles or an old red bone peanut. I actually have trouble picking which one to carry to work on some mornings!!

Stockman is by far my favorite. I think it is because my grandfather always carried stockmans and they remind me of watching him peel me apples.
It has all the type of blade you need for everyday life and it has a good feel to it.
