Wow! Sure is great to see so many beautiful STAG knives on display. Nice to see this thread brought back to life again too.

I got a thang about stag and it is a pleasure seeing all these beauties.

That is a great looking old sportsmans/horsemans knife. Those stag handles look like they have seen a lot of pocket time. Knife looks to be in good condition and is obviously well made. Many of the knives of that design were produced in Shefield, England. I don't know any particulars on your knife, but hopefully someone with more information will come along soon.
BTW that one can come "party" at my house any time!

Most likely made in Germany or Austria.

Not the style scissors and pin you would normally see in English or American.

Here is another Stag I added to the collection,
Bulldog Whittler with Wharncliffe blade.
This is one of my favorite!

Very nice Camillus.

Those scales are about as evenly matched as you can get on stag.

Very nice Bulldog, but those are 5th generation made in 2002 and 2003 only in 3 models. The Thor (4-1/8 inch), Viking (3-7/8 inch), and the Seductress at 3-1/8 inch. The double dog head tang stamp was in use from mid 2000 through 2003 and it changed back to the fighting dogs in 2004. I don't doubt someone sold it as a first generation because that seems to happen all to often. Charlie Dorton didn't make one during the first generation.

The Bulldog Warncliffe Whittler is my favorite - I like it much better than the Case Seahorse.

If the number on the tang starts with a 5, it's stag. If it starts with a 6, most likely bone. I blew your pics up to 400% and it looks like stag from here. Have a cold one on me.

Phil, it says, Case XX on one side and 5254 on the other side of the blade. So it must be Stag? Thanks for the info and the beer and the invite to the party!

First Generation Bulldogs had some really nice stag. Here are a couple samples from the Tobacco series. I have more, I just posted the knives I think have nicer stag.

This one was made by Queen, I think, for Bluegrass Cutlery, who had some arrangement with Winchester. I also have one in jigged bone. B. Levine, in his fourth edition thought the original should go for $750. I saw 2 go on ebay last year. One was in fair shape and the other was worn out. Both went for several hundred. I think chasing "rare" instead of "nice" is just crazy.
