Yesterday I was processing wood for camping in Dec.

The fatwood branch was buried below the downed Maple I was working on. The Maple is about 6" round there.

Out for a short walk yesterday....found this dead pine, aka fatwood.....yup, the whole thing is...

Great pics, Paul! A real nice assortment of “tools” you got there!
Here’s some pics from the most recent hike my wife and I took. As you can see, we encountered this King snake almost right beside us at one point. He darted a few feet away to where he is in this pic. Must have thought we couldn’t see him there. :) I took a couple of pics, turned to speak to my wife, and she had darted, too - about 20 yards back up the trail! :D

Last hike!! Solo 6 miles in Ohio!! Beautiful day!! Saw lots of deer which was unusual for this area!! 🤔
Heard owls hooting which isn’t unusual for there!!

I was hauling a small log to a hiding spot and went to set it down when I noticed this littlre fella.
Hoping I didn't hurt him I reached down to discover his life ended before I got there...
