Thanks Garry. Love my office view! Nevada is interesting as it has lots of cool, interesting micro- climates. My first post of Hinkey Summit has a campground just below it about a mile with thousands of aspen trees (largest living organism till a few year ago were aspen groves as roots are intertwined and grove consider one organism) and a nice stream. I was stunned to see wildflowers of all colors late July.

Pretty country in my opinion and cool to visit the jewels. We call Reno "where the green meets the brown" but there are amazing areas in the high desert here.

I am here barring any unforeseen till the kick me out or spread my ash at one of these places. Already have a spot picked out.

Google Lamoille Canyon, NV, f so inclined. They do tons of outdoor activities there. Another alpine canyon maybe 2 hours out from me.

Yes it is! Really neat. I spent a lot of hours in the woods before I was ever able to see one in the wild.

Went back to Buckskin again today. Got a beautiful in my opinion pic shortly after sunrise.

Visited as well the " HH Mountain Range" just northwest of Orovada, Nevada. One of my favorite desert canyons for 25 years I have lived in Humboldt County, NV.. I have hunted and fished that valley for 2.5 decades. BEAUTIFUL beyond description.

That valley unfortunately also [b]HOLDS 25% OF THE WORLDS LITHIUM! About 60 miles from my house.

Numerous, obviously non common sense tree huggers drove 9 hours from Oregon in 2 SUVs that didn't look EV to me and posted a pic to " Protect Thacker Pass" website stating "Humans were engineered to walk, get rid of cars"!. They just drove 2 SUV 9 hours. Oh and left trash and belongings abandoned strewn across the area of said protest camp where a BLM cleanup was scheduled but canceled but one replacement tree huggers arrived. I know this first hand but won't reveal how.

True story. Will put the "movie landscape of Mad Max" to shame.

That valley will soon be decimated for "green", Big rigs, mining, pollution from the sulfur and water they pump to extract.

Morons with no clue. Irony so thick a chainsaw is required.

There is a thistle of which 14 acres exist on the planet. It is right there. Why? Likes lithium based soil. So previously mentioned idiots dug 4 acres to plant elsewhere. My educated assumption. 5000 dollars reward for info leading to... No joke.

I have a severe face palm bruise at the moment.

You seem to be at the center point of clashing cultures or, perhaps better, ideologies one of which rejects reason and knows only feelings and confrontation.

Buckskin pic was out passenger side while 15 mph moving. Mirror visible in lower left of pic. Spiritual absolutely. Better than JC in toast or a chicken nugget. Just one man's opinion.

The second paragraph is dead on. That valley is a jewel and 40 or so miles area northwest to Oregon border. 60 miles from Bickskin. Micro climates , hunting 4 legs and flying 2's. Aspen trees, alpine lakes bald eagles, fish caught likely caught on a rock and a string based on my experience.

Saw a hundred or so antelope in last 2 days in hay pivots and a ton of red tails almost every fence post or high ground. Saw a huge red tail today on Buckskin which had fresh caught meal disturbed by truck. Took off to eat elsewhere.

Crazy clown world at the moment in my opinion. That is tragic to the outdoors I love and for those that don't live in Nevada, 60 miles away with this "green" crap is your doorstep.

At least in my view and most of people here.

30 or so miles away, is Paradise Nevada.
Spring depending on weather is ground squirrel capital of the USA. Not gray squirrels but more like a large goher 6 " in body length. They borrow in hay fields. Some farmers beg for shooters to come and we do. Most with shooting tables in the back of a pickup, lunch and 1000 rounds.

If anybody thinks I fat fingered an extra zero, no.

Post pics before as ypu can kill 1000 a day. I shot 128 in 2 hours with my T Bolt .17 Browning HMR with breaks and reloads. Hunters that doubted you could kill that many scoffed. Went and killed more than one could count in a day with zero ammo at local store. Some groups drive 15 hours to get to that valley. They juke, run, prance and stand up and look right at you. Kaboom. Head shots are 2 times points. Doubles in one shot extra bonus. Unofficial, personal, unadvertised tournaments all the time.

Any doubters, real easy Google. Like an adult wack a mole game with a rimfire. 22 rimfire pistol or rifle is good as well. Poor things seem to looks as if "will you be my friend?" Then the impact...Yea no not today.

Just let you know, most of the folks we know are put off by the antics of the "Green" people.

Thanks much Phillip for the easily found search to dig that link up. Spoken with true sincerity. I mean on your part so my statement is not misconstrued. There is another post / blog (whatever the heck that is as I am a simple man), that discusses a group of friends and hunters that travel from (CA, insert shudder here) with a hunt van /truck that they are obviously going hunting for WPs, Big decal on side.

Name escapes me for now.
12 to 15 hour drive to where I am and a 400 to 500 shot per day estimate in the great article in my opinion is low in my experience. Hunters after the scope time use .22 handguns at close walking when a change of pace is desired with huge success. 1000 rounds no uncommon at all. The norm with those whom thought the advice was a folk story where scrambling for no ammo to be had and reluctant other's to give any stock up as they been warned. I have seen first-hand.. Too late. "We were not exaggerating as you now have learned". Likely part of a good hunting lesson as there is walk talk radio raazzzz as we say it.

Really appreciate the effort on lookup and curiosity ! Really grateful you read my post and took time to research it.
