It’s small 6 1/8” OAL but it has a good feel to it, the maker has a good following on other forums, I normally buy bigger hunter size fixed but I’m glad I picked this one up.

Some unusually low tides last couple weeks. A long pipe showed up that I have not seen before at this beach on regular low tides. Looked right for knife shots.

From our walk this afternoon.

I found a nice leather sheath for the ESEE 3 and took it for it's maiden voyage today. I'm pleased with the 99% perfect fit.

Found it on ebay. I was (and still am) looking for a first generation canvas sheath for my Cold Steel Bushman. This sheath was not made specifically for an ESEE 3. The vendor listed all the measurements very clearly (not just fits 8" knife) so it was easy to see that it was very close to the dimensions of the the ESEE 3 which, like the Cold Steel Bushman, came with a kydex sheath that I do not like. I decided to take a chance, if it doesn't fit the ESEE I've got plenty of other knives that might work. Total price, tax and shipping was $12.00 and change! The quality of the leather is very good, vertical or horizontal carry, quality hardware, and just altogether well made. The 1% that doesn't fit can be remedied with a pair of thicker scales on the ESEE 3 or a slight adjustment to the retainer strap. Because of the thinness of the ESEE handle the retainer strap is not as secure as it should be. I think it was a great deal. ::tu::

As a side note, this sheath fits my Buck Vanguard perfectly as well.
