Great shot, Charlie! After owning one for all of 15 seconds, I became a big fan of the easy open feature.

Thanks guys!

The EO is a Robeson Sure-edge and the "mushroom" is a fungus it grows on tree trunks and we've alwas called it "punk fungus" . I'm sure there is a Latin scientific name for it but I don't know what it is.

I'm dipping into the archive again....

I don't recognize the manufacturer, Charlie, but that is a very good looking knife.

It is a Ruger Muzzle Break tactical bowie designed by Ken Onion and made by CRKT. It's 12" OAL with molded rubber handle and built for heavy use. I haven't really put it to the test yet but it looks and feels like it will take a lickin' and keep on tickin'. I'm not sure what kind of steel the blade is, it simply says stainless but it's most likely 420 or 440. It has held the factory edge well through the limited use I've put on it.

That's a keeper Tim!! ::tu::

I like the slanted bolsters. Is that handle material Corelon or Kirinite?

Well, the Wild Wacky Wonder Dog is back in the saddle again! First walk off leash since his surgery, we stayed out of the rough terrain mostly so he could run without too many obstacles. Now he's ready for a nap. ::tu::

Here's a shot from our walk...

Cool scrimshaw, Charlie, and nice shot! Glad to hear Trey is getting back to normal!

BTW, Charlie, what’s the age of that Robeson? It looks brand new.

I always find it refreshing to see a bit of scrimshaw. Good to hear that the Farkle Hound is back in action.

Well, the Magnificent Muffun Head has had his second off leash walk since his surgery and he is back to normal about 90%. It's hard to hold him back.

With thunder rolling across the sky and the first rain drops starting to fall I shot this pic on our walk...

Thanks Tim.

So, I had a very unusual photo op this morning. We had some heavy rain over night and when I went out the front door this morning I found this fellow in my front yard. :shock:
Alligator Snapper I.jpg
A good sized alligator snapper! Well, he didn't seem to be very happy about his surroundings and I wasn't too keen on having him around the house, Trey doesn't need to lose another toe, so I snagged him by the tail and put him in a cardboard box. That beastie weighed about 25 lbs. I carried him down through the grove to the creek bank and turned him loose. That's where I shot a couple pics before he slid into the water and went submariner. I'm guessing he's much happier there. You're welcome my cranky little friend. ::super_happy:: To give you some scale, the QSP on his back is 8 1/4" OAL open. An interesting way to start the day.
