I just picked up an older knife at a show, and the shield really sold it. It didn't have a tang stamp. But, I knew that I had seen a shield like that somewhere, so of course my first stop was here on AAPK. I browsed through the 'Got Shields' thread and lo and behold there was a knife with the same shield. I think the post was by LongBlade. It is a Simonds Saw and Steel. I found one on eBay (out of my price range) that was much better shape with a full etch. But, I'm still happy with mine.
Anyway, I appreciate all the info that is readily available here.
Thanks and I hope everyone finds their 'Holy Grail' knife this year!
