Don't think that was it Mitch!
I did list it on the bay and it dissappeared quickly for the $19.99 BIN price I set.

Re: Sharpening Stones thread
Scott, that black "glass" looking stone looks an heck of a lot like
the carbide honing sticks we used in the machine shop.
We used them to touch up or "knock the new off" turning tools
for lathes.
Can't be certain about that without having it in hand though.
Glad it sold quickly for ya!

Got this one years ago at a garage sale. I just use it like a strop. Puts nice edge on a pocket knife real quick.

Re: Sharpening Stones thread
Googled Pike Special Washita Oilstone and found the company has been around a good while, some interesting info on how the stone was mined, etc...
This one is a flea market find. The stone measures 3" long, 2" wide and 1" thick. The old paper label actually wraps over on the end of the stone, at first I thought it might have been broken and squared back up, but with the label it probably is factory size. Haven't seen one this size before. There a couple of small dings on the bottom and the stone is a light grey almost white color, may even have a tint of yellow color

Re: Sharpening Stones thread
TF that's a mighty short stone. I have to wonder if it might have had a specialized purpose ?
