Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
Hello gents,
I have two here and a few questions. The cigar pattern I can't find a pattern number from my research but it has definately been cleaned and is in beautiful working order. And second the 1173 I know isn't an original nor does it seem to be from the 80s even though it seems to have the 1935ish stamp. It has bone handles and they are very worn but mismatched, and there seems to be a cavity under the bullet. Both blade have very strong delightful pulls and half stops. Even if it's a fake it's an awesome pocket knife. Any info would be appreciated.

Picked up a R6404, quite a nice knife, 3 3/8". the pearl looks perfect, all blades marked with a Remington UMC stamp so I think that makes this an early knife. Seems to be a rare pattern, the only illustration I can find shows it with a pen instead of punch.

Very cool, Theo. I bet with some pocket time it will shine right up.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
No it is not getting into any pocket, might not be perfect, I just can’t seem to take a good photo. Same knife still looks bad and I have not done any “pocket shining “1967redrider wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 4:34 pm Very cool, Theo. I bet with some pocket time it will shine right up.![]()

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
I just picked this one up...
looks like I'm a collector now...
uh maybe...
Two tang stamps; looks like a 1921-24 and a 35'-40'
any one know if there was an "overlap" of tang stamps? What the "Pros" here date this knife at?

Re: Where Are All The Remington Knife Collectors?
You know, for the tonnage of knives Remington cranked out pre-WWII, they had decent quality control.
