Nice quick history lesson, Trace. Thanks for posting, I'll need to do some further history searching.

Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Nice lineup for today, gents.
Carrying a Benchmade 921 Switchback in S30V. Pretty cool dual-bladed knife, both of which are very sharp.

Hey Trace, been out there several times with my wife. That plaque commemorates the first battle if I remember right. The 2nd battle of Adobe Walls was with the buffalo hunters when Billy Dixon took his famous mile long shot and hit the Indian. Billy Dixon was at both battles. The first as a scout for the US Army and the 2nd as a buffalo hunter. Great history.

Redryder, When using what I will call the master blade, does the spine of the 2nd blade make for an uncomfortable grip?

Not at all, QS. And left handed you can get you finger tips on the clip for additional leverage.

You're right Mman. I should have not stainless.Montanaman wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 4:40 pmI would bet 99.9% of the knives shown in the last 1500 pages have carbon steel blades. S30V has more carbon than 1095.

Nice pair! That Whittler, having a Wharncliffe and a lot larger frame (and thus blades) than a typical Whittler is a very heavy-duty knife! It is one of my favorite RR patterns, though I do question why two pens instead of coping (or spey) and pen.
I need to get one of the RR marlinspikes to add to my growing assortment of rigging and rope knives.
