Wade, we have trouble with Yellow Jackets when we dress a deer. If the weather allows us to hang one out side with a fly bag, they just wrap the bag up and then when breaking the carcass down they are usually all over the deer. Never been bit while working on a deer but I've made up for it doing other things.

Today was my Grandsons first Jr deer hunt NO deer but a great day.

Yellow jackets and other wasps are beneficial. They kill all manner of caterpillars, worms and other insects including black widow spiders. If you have webworms in trees, simply use a long poke to tear open their web. Wasps will clean them out. As long wasps of any kind don't nest close to doors of the house or outbuildings, I leave them alone. Had a nest on the porch above the back door of my house all summer (10 foot porch ceiling). We came and went all summer without the wasps ever paying any outward attention to us. Never been stung by one unless I was bothering their nest or accidentally put my hand directly on one. If they're out foraging away from their nest you're the last thing they're interested in, unless your wearing some kind of perfume. Same with bees.

Guys I typed snail, but I ought to have said slug. I don’t know what I was thinking. I’ve seen several yellow jackets around here, and hornets too. There’s got to be a good nest somewhere close by.

Thanx Joe and Colonel there's nothing like getting in the woods but with a Grand child it's really special especially with him these kids have soooooo much going on,he'll only have three hunting days due too tier II hockey and soccer with a little baseball throne in there.

Early this morning here is a female, I think, marking her territory. There were 20 pictures of her in the last picture, our Aussiedor is checking the spot. After I pulled the card, she also marked the spot.

TF, one of those coyotes ran across the road in front me me going to work this morning. Sure wish I could have got a shot at him.

Yesterday afternoon cleaning up at the old house (getting ready to sell) it came a little shower and we saw this double rainbow.

Then when we got home, two big ol bald eagles flew over the house real low. Didn’t have time to get a picture of that.

My longtime friend and regular hunting buddy Billy shot this doe yesterday. I helped him clean it; we both used Buck 118 fixed blades. (Yeah, I've influenced him on knife selection!). OH
Ps. A bit of last seasons venison burger being browned to make up a pot of deer chili.

Jerry, I noticed that emblem but it didn't stick with me. I just looked at another picture and enlarged it - it is the US American Eagle coat of arms with the words US Consulate General, Barcelona Spain - 1992 surrounding it. Billy is a Vietnam Vet of the US Navy, came home, married and became a food inspector for the USDA, retired now - he is about four or five years older than me. Billy's influence is the reason I am wearing blue latex gloves now when cleaning a deer or turkey (at least when he is with me!) Bruce

Thank OH. Not at this point. The two big red ones are less than a year old. They are Nubian x Boer crosses so technically being half dairy goat we could use her for milk. But these are destined for some brush clearing, and meat kids to sell duty.

Looks like some tricky walking through that rock - staff absolutely essential. Fell and busted my leg pretty good on the AT a year ago up near Charlottesville VA on a section like that (it was good to be prepared). OH
