Yea Scott, no big deal on not drawing a tag. Besides, it gives me a bonus point for next year. Bonus points squared = amount of draws for a particular tag lottery. Tags are only good for a given period, 15 days, say Oct 1st to Oct 15th, for example. Wouldn't have had the time to fill one anyway this year. Not shortage of antelope meat or venison since my son filled his tags.

Bird season opened here last Saturday, really enjoy getting out with the dogs! They take me hunting, not the other way around. Hope to get out and share some pics. And those Chuckar, Quail and Ducks taste pretty damn good too!

Nice job, Monk!! Were you using a walking sinker with a floating jig and inflated worm? That's the rig we use here for Walleye. Set the jig about 18" behind the sinker and drift it across the flats.

WB____we just use a swivel,about 12-18 inches above the worm (swivel avoids line twist & adds weight)___the worm will float on top or just under the water,worked in a back & forth left to right motion or hooked in the middle, wacky style (for short strikes)__in the clear water,you get to watch the worms,as you work em' back to the boat and get to see the fish actually come up and hit your bait !!!!!!! really makes the heart skip a few beats,when the bigger fish come up !!!!!! ___ all these different colors are my favorites__pink/white swirl,merthiolate,sherbert,black emerald,candy corn,pink,pink/yellow swirl sorta like a sweet shop delight !!!! ::nod::____that Ol' Gal above,just had to have some Pink/White Swirl,for breakfast !!!!

Thus far only some dove hunting here in Texas- General deer season doesnt start till November, so I'm still chewing on last years antelope and vension from the deep freeze.

When my dad and I would go fishing when I was a kid, we always took along a can of vienna sausage for lunch. That's nasty stuff! - . But we used to sit there and eat it like we had good sense. Tasted pretty good, too, when you were hungry. I don't remember eating it except when we went fishing....

One of my uncles was Township Road Commissioner for years and I spent the day with him a couple of times when I was a kid. He would eat vienna sausage for lunch now and then and back then, I thought they were good. Later on in life I saw them on the grocery shelf and decided to take a trip down memory lane. YUCK! No wonder my mother never bought them. Reality is nowhere near as good as memories.

Pay them fellers no mind, Monk. They've lost their taste buds somewhere down the line! I love vienies and crackers, especially out on the water. Another good one is deviled ham on crackers!

This is a picture my daughter sent me from North Dakota. She asked “Is this a Northern Pike?” I said, “”It looks like one to me.” But what do I know, I have never been anywhere to fish for Northerns.

I am kind of jealous. It is not everyday you catch an 18” fish!

The little boy belongs to a friend of hers, she said she taught him to fish the next day. The boy caught the only fish the next day!

Went deer hunting yesterday, saw a lot of deer; does and small antlered bucks - passed on them all (I'm horn hunting now). It was a great day, lots of rutting activity going on. While I was in the stand Ole Wiley Coyote came strolling by - I introduced him to Winchester!
