my son,

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Thank you everyone. He said that today was the worst day of his life. I recon so. If your squeamish pass on. This morning after much prep he had a Barium enema XRAY. I'll spare you of his description but the XRAY is on the end of the scope. The Tech. doing it could not get more than 3 inches. Lot's of blood work and long talk to the anesthesiologist nurse. He had a very bad reaction after his knee surgery. But still has work lined up for this week. one is a 1950's Jaguar after working on a vintage Porsche last Friday. Plus a ceramic coat job on a 2017 Chevy Equinox. Thank you spell check! ::tu::

My sons cancer surgery is scheduled for 1 pm. today. We are staying at his house and I will be driving his wife each day as she does not drive in city traffic. It is a good thing that they have two cars because I am having some trouble with my poor old Honda. I think the battery is not good enough now too always turn it over without a jump. Went to Walmart yesterday and of course they lady looked up and sold me the wrong one. Posts on the wrong side so cables are not long enough. Put it and my trade in in her car and by the time I drove to town the auto department was closed. Rob is still up upbeat about getting right back to work but I think that the chemo will probably knock him for a loop after talking to a friend that is having it.

He looked much better yesterday morning. They had him up several times during the night too walk laps around the halls. His main complaint was that the gas they fill you up with was in his shoulders causing pain. Not sure how many types of painkillers they are giving him?

Isn't it amazing how the medical field has advanced the surgical procedures in the last few years?
Bob, praying your son Robert will be back on track very soon and that you will continue to have all the needed strength to help him recover.

Thanks for keeping us updated. I wish I had seriously drank more water while I was taking Chemo.I now have lower kidney functions and neuropathy in my feet and some in my hands.

But ,I've been cancer free for about nine years,I'm thankful.

Yesterday-Wednesday the doctor told him that he removed 9 inches of the colon. Eat a little more solid food and he may be able to come home last night. Around 11 am I decided to go too the Tennessee railroad museum. Had the parking valet bring the car. got around the other side of the parking garage and my cell rang. I am being discharged now. Good that I drove his Caddy ( sweet ride!) instead of her small Toyota. My DIL. said she was in the cafeteria with the gift card. I ordered the BBQ Pork not a sandwich. The man heaped so much on the plate I couldn't eat it all. Had him home 30 miles away by 2:15. So I'm cruising 80 in the carpool lane and a guy flys by on a small crotch rocket, and guns it for the off ramp. DIL asked how fast is he going? I said 100 or maybe 95. MYGosh!

Thanks for the tip about drinking lots of water. Doc said he will decide after the report comes back on the lymph nodes.

My son heard yesterday from the surgeons nurse. Said that he removed 44 lymph nodes. He sees the surgeon for the first time Monday. and will be refereed to a oncologist. Rob told me that his CT. Scan showed something different about his spleen, not a medication problem and thinks the cancer had spread to it. He is otherwise feeling good and say's that a customer wants a scratch on his Porsche SUV fixed and ceramic coated. He feels that he may be able to do that pretty soon as it is not using his heavy buffing machine.
