dating 110 s
Bought 3 110s today, 1 I have figured out at 2015. very nice condition. I dont know what sttel it is tho. Its very sharp and never been sharpened since factory.?he other 2 both have the same tang stamp, a square C with a dot in center but one knife is a 3 pin, the other a 4 pin. I assume it, the 3 pin, was rebladed some time.

In the Knife Related Q&A forum you’ll find a “sticky” thread at the top called “Tang Stamps”. Here’s one of the posts there about Buck tang stamps and date codes. viewtopic.php?f=4&t=39799&p=386214&hilit=Buck#p386214
The answers to most similar questions on other brands can be found in that thread also. Just open the thread, type the brand name you’re looking for into the search box, and submit.

JerryD posted the attached Buck tang stamp dating chart several years ago. Save it - real handy to have with you when hitting pawnshops, flea markets, etc. All three of your knives will have 420HC stainless steel blades. OH

Re: dating 110 s
Thankyou both. I have the date chart here. It shows both these knives as 2 dot, one on each side of model no. One knife has 3 pins, the other knife has 4 pins. Tang stamps are the same on both knives. This leads me to think the 3 pin knife has had a new blade installed some sime after manufacture?? Hope I am more clear in my wording??
The 3rd knife in question is a 2015 re tang stamp. It seems the blade steel is of a higher grade/quality than average as it is very sharp, unlike other buch 110s. It has not been resharpened in my opinion it is factory sharpened only.
Thanks

Re: dating 110 s
So, I got the answer. The 110 in question is a 71-74 frame with a new blade installed by Buck in 89. kinda like my 89 112 frame will have a 2022 blade.
