821 stamped on back of main

The info is in the Research Section for Schrade. Top left of the page.
It is listed in the Open Stock list.
Schrade called the handles "propwood". It was only listed in the catalogs in 1953 & 1954.

Is that a phenolic resin impregnated laminated wood material like Pakkawood or Robeson's ShurWood?

Almost indestructible if it is.

1953 to 1954? Very nice find, indeed.

That is my all time favorite Schrade pattern. I have them peachseed bone and in smooth black. Search the old threads for one that I posted in black with the original wrapper and box. I have owned the wood handled one as well, a very nice knife.
