Knife sharpening.
Hi all, just got here. I have only a few knives but want to get a collection started. Question: I always carry a knife in my pocket and actually use them often. What is the best way to get/keep them sharp. I've been using a stone but can't seem to be able to put on a decent edge.

Lansky sharpening system, is what I use. Several different versions available. Works like a charm and the guide makes it very easy to keep a consistent angle, IMO. I never became very good with a stone myself

many of us older cats whom were hunters & fishers & were taught at an early age. this does'nt seem to be mainstream any longer. newer systems are really being used by many of we older cranks since the super steels are so tough. edge pros & others are great for relieveing tired bevels on the high vanadium alloys.--HiPower
