It does not look like a German made knife.ratlesnake75 wrote:Very high quality old knife from Germany.
I am sure it was made in the U.S., the jigged bone handles tell the story.
Very attractive old knife

Re: One-Hit-Wonders
My wife & I just got back from vacation.
I found a couple while we were traveling that might fit here.
A Weske fixed blade. 6-1/4" inches.
Goins says they were in Sandusky Ohio, c. 1946-1952.
Also a Excelsior that has seen better days.
I like the bolsters on this one.

This is a well made knife and really looks good...I think I may have shown it here before. It has Calidad on main blade and has a bow and arrow on other blade.

Very nice looking knife. Is it from Spain? I ask because I believe "calidad" means "quality" in Spanish.knfmn wrote:It has Calidad on main blade and has a bow and arrow on other blade.

I need to take a close up of the stamp, but both blades are stamped "Hollinger/Fremont/Ohio. The Hollinger is in a semi-circle. I posted it when I found it but no one had any information, so it may be a one hitter. Not the kind of one hitter that comes with a little box though.

I reckon this means neither of us have a one hitter anymore. Wish my Fabyan had as good of blades as yours. I don;t believe I have seen a handle shaped like this. My book says circa 1890 made in Germany possibly imported by firm in N.Y. Makes no difference as it sure feels good for a hundred twenty years old.
