Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks Mike R ,Roger C,John K for looking and posting.
I've been waiting also to post this unusual and precious knife of mine.It was a gift from my good friend custom knife maker John Lloyd.John has an extraordinary amount beautiful handle materials for sale.I'd venture to say, much more nice handles than any other material supplier.
I was waiting for the last pearl whittler auction of Voyles before posting this knife. It's sister was in that auction and we thought they ought to be reunited.
I got it's sister, not only that, but Mike Losicco gave me it's older brother, how I'm blessed with good people for friends.
I now may have the largest collection of Clements shadow farmers whittlers in the world!! I have an assumption they may have been made by Sheffield cutlers named Mills,Willis and Earnest. The fellows from UK may correct or confirm this I hope.
This is one of my resources from our very own Wellington.

VERY nice knives Lyle!!
Those are the first Farmer's whittlers that I have ever seen. Thanks for posting and congrats.
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).

Lyle - Thanks for posting those fine knives! I have seen photos of farmer's whittlers before, but this thread is the first time I have seen the name. That custom rooster comb is beautiful!

Lyle, "If You Build It, They Will Come" often holds true in life as well as in the movies.
You built up your fine collection and now the knives are just coming to you.
And you deserve every one of them.
Congratulations.

Re: Farmer's Jacks
More gorgeous knives, Lyle! I really like that checkered ivory, that would make some sweet looking pistol handles as well if the material was wide and long enough.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Re: Farmer's Jacks
Thanks for posting those Just, the bone on those Schrades is some of my favorite, and the profile of the Schrades is most elegant. As I've said before, Empire and Schrade are the only makers I've found that put the pivot pin in the meat of the bolster on the heavy working pruning end.
Roger R, Roger C (thanks for the comments guys) said he never saw you at Parkers this time,I never made it either.Look what I finally found.I guess I'll quit buggin' you RR,unless..............
Looks like greenbone ,anyways an H Boker,,yea!
