BIG Jacks

Post by Ridgegrass »

Levine calls these "English" jacks. They're all pretty old and in great shape. Maybe they were just too big to carry and stayed in a drawer ??Top to Bottom: 1&2) German (Soligen) Unkown mark. Appears to be two devils' heads withe horns and pointy beards. Anybody recognize it? 4-1/2"
3) Robeson, pattern #622151, 4-1/2" , Shur/Edge shield., Brass liners, black composition
4) Edw. K. Tryon, Philadelphia. Hardware store brand, maybe by UTICA? 4-1/2", nice shield, brass liners
5) Bonsa Soligen, Main blade reverse tang and pen blade stamped " ROSTFREI, (stainless) with a foot and soccer ball. 4-3/8" Brass liners
6) Empire, Winstead, Conn., 4-1/8" Equal end, brass liners, cocobolo handles, nice shield

Ridgegrass nice collection! The Tryon is very cool. I've never seen that particular shield design before, it's really unique.

The only one I have that may fit into that category is this NY Knife ebony jack that looks like it may have had a run in with some 120 or 240 volt power.
