GOBERNADOR anybody know anything?

hey this is a knife i have had for a little while and will be departing tommorrow.it is going to a good home.

my opinion. it is an awesome knife. built very well.very nice scales.

besides that just wanted some info.

i wanted to add it reminds me of current german knives. also kind of reminds me of schatts.

the jigging is awesome. and the snap is killer half way and fully closed.

it was a good trade and i hope its new owner loves it.

that's was arnold's house brand while "gobernador" of california.

well, maybe not.



gobernador was a brand for krusius bros, 1856 - 1983 - solingin, ger.

Heres one that I have with waterfall scales.......quality German knives IMO.

as a side note, when krusius closed in 1983, jim parker was involved with the man(gronauer) who bought the remaining stock. krusius made contract knives for u.s. companys. some of the brand name were belknap, gobenador,simmons, hornet,shapleigh, cactus, maher & grosh, primble, keen kutter, and henckels.
some of these knife parts were assembled and sold as "warehouse" finds.

parker seems to know where all the old ...going out of businness hardware stores.

he has found more going out of business hardware stores then i think exsist.

It's something I just made up, it's a new favorite of mine. the edges have that clear cream look to them real classic aged look. Got ya askin thou

chris...your joke almost got me for a second.

i did get a fair trade. im getting knives i want.plus i traded it for exactly what i paid.so you cant really be more fair then that.plus the new owner is getting what they want. cant be a more perfect trade.

i could have definetly gotten more for the knife but i like to break even with aapk members.

the scales on this knife are some of the best i have seen. nice thick scales with chunky jigging.

my guess would be this knife would have a msrp of say anywhere from 79.99-129.99$. thats just goin on how its built and knives in the same catergory.

the only reason i wasnt going to trade it is not only because of how beautiful it is.but mostly just for the fact that its
the only "gober" i have.

whats funny is it deos remind me of keen kutters i have handled.
