Browne&Pharr and?..........

Post by knife7knut »

These are pictures of two knives that have very similar characteristics. One is a 2 blade made by Browne&Pharr and the other is unmarked.

They both have machined nail marks, dovetailed bolsters and rosewood scales. The blade grinds are very similar.

From what I understand,B&P only made the one style of knife before they went out of the knife business.Any one have an idea on who may have made the other one? I cannot believe that anyone would make a knife of this quality and then not mark it in some way.

When I got it the blade was pretty messed up and required a bit of polishing to bring it to this state.I'm wondering if there may have been a hot stamp or a light etch on it originally.

Anhy information or speculation would be appreciated.

the unmarked blade version and no screws is one of those made by an employee with liberated parts. it is not a Browne and Pharr knife, it is a fake.

Hello Bob:
Thank you for the reply.I was just curious as to who may have made the knife.Do you think it might have been one of your employees? When I get knives such as this I like to try and trace down their origins.Whatever the case it seems to be a well made knife and seems to hold an edge very well.
