That's a Hungarian design. Spyderco made a version a few year back, always wanted one. I guess I'm gonna have to get my cousin to get me a real one. It's a fejesgörbe” (“header curved”), the traditional pocketknife of Hungary.kootenay joe wrote:Back on previous page, May 16 Dave posted a Dr. t. knife he called a "curved-head jack" which is as good a name as any i can think of. "Ball-End" jack & "Swell End" jack are already taken. So here is my "Curved-Head jack" by Mr. Rostfrei who i think lives in Hungry.

No, I'm first generation Hungarian American. I've been back home a bunch of times, the last one was with my daughter in 06. It's a beautiful country.KnifeSlinger#81 wrote:Are you a native Hungarian Ted?TheMadHungarian wrote: That's a Hungarian design. Spyderco made a version a few year back, always wanted one. You keep coming out of left field with what I'm coming to call "double-take Barlows". That's a Camillus, I reckon, but with a stamp I've never seen before. I need your sources.DM11 wrote:Yes, I do seem to be in Barlow mode here lately. Won a couple Stockmans the other day so maybe a change is coming down the road a bit. But until then anothe Barlow today.
The Barlow's not a knife, it's a state of mind. I sometimes step out with other patterns for a while but I always come back to my first love.

I respectfully disagree, Colonel, I'mma say that sweet bone Case has got miles to go before she sleeps. And lookin' all good while she counts 'em off.Colonel26 wrote:I just had this old have wore out XX 6375 and a Spyderco Military.
Was going to snap a pic of this week's totes but I can't get the lighting right. I'll try again in the sunlight tomorrow since they're riding along again anyway. It's just the same Oily Creek #54 with an I*XL sheepsfoot Barlow that doesn't photograph as nice as it looks in person, plus a slightly different twist on an OHO.
Everything's better with a Barlow

Tony, that Kwik Kut Barlow has a High Carbon Steel U.S.A. tang stamp on the master blade. If I remember correctly they were made by Camillus for Sears and Roebuck.

You fellers are coming strong with the totes again this week. Some real nice ones coming down the line!
This was me all week. I think I'm addicted to the Big Jack...
Is anyone else using the big spear on the new 54 as the "master"? I tore up breakfast and an apple for lunch today and didn't even use the clip blade once.
