Girls Dont Collect, or do they?

Post by basser5 »

Well these two do! These are my two girls Breanna age 8, and Cara age 4. They both get alot of enjoyment out of collecting with me. They have gone to numerous gun shows, they buy knives off of Ebay...(with guidance of course) , and they enjoy attending and bidding at the Thursday night auction here on AAPK. I would have never thought that I would be buying pink knives........lol. And yes of course they still attend dance classes, have dress-up parties and love to shop with their mom ! Here are a few pics. of them with their knives..........

Basser, I hope your girls continue their interest in knives, all their lives. It would be a big advantage to start that young. A couple knife dealers, have told me they have more and more female collectors.
We have a few knife wallets too, but they are full, and any knives that have never been carried are mostly still in their boxes. Storage has become a problem......

Elvis, she IS a keeper!

Thanks buck, they light up my life everyday. The only disadvantage that i have found while
collecting with the girls is that they can both beat me to the mailbox! Now i find myself the one who is begging for the new knife! ::dang::

My daughter (20) is a knife person.. She likes Case (wonder where she gets that from?? ::shrug:: ) knives, but has a few others as well.. Total of maybe 10-15.. Her edc is a Kershaw Scallion.. I like to get her a new knife for her birthday or Christmas.. She told me when she graduates from college she would like a MOP handled Case knife!! ::tu:: John :D

Great pictures!Have to start them young.
Probably one of the biggest and most knowledgeable collectors of knives that I have ever met was Cindy(Rabb)Taylor.Met her at one of the NCCA(Northeast Cutlery Collectors Association)shows before she married Jim Taylor. This woman has probably forgotten more about knives than most people will ever know. She has written numerous articles for various knife publications(as has Jim)and is totally enthusiastic about the hobby.
She and Jim have retired to Florida now but she still does a lot of e-bay selling(her name on there is knife princess)and is a very honest person to deal with.

Another lady right here in Michigan is not so much a collector but rather a custom knife maker;Judy Gottage. She makes some of the most beautiful knives I have ever seen and does ALL her own work. Some of her automatics are really over the top.

Even though I am posting all the knives in my album, they are Bret888's also! I wish there was a way to add the pictures to both of our profiles.
