Hello all, hope eveyone is well. I wanted to show off a new Spyderco Byrd I just finished up today. It has a real southwestern flair to it. I have not seen many pocket clips done like this, so let me know what you think.
This work is all hand cut , fitted and finished. The overlays are copper, and German silver, with hand engraving.

How do you apply the Copper layer??

Hello hope your well. Well to get that overlay on, I have to do a couple of things. First cutt all of this stuff to fit. Then I brazed the small silver onto the copper. I then used low temp soft solder to put the copper onto the knife. Then a litte file work, and buffing and its ready to engrave. I made the concho the same way. Just lots of tedious work, but it sure beats a real job.

That is great Mike, really nice and very impressive...I love the armadillo...

You and Johnnie do know though that armadillos look more natural in a Florida setting..

hey ralph, we got millions of the little critters, and the most natural way to look

at em is up-side down. there's more dead dillas, possums, and such along the roads than there are beer cans.

no gators here though.
do people hit gators with vehicles in the sunshine state?

Absolutely Johnnie they just make a bigger splat..

I remember when I was a kid a Chevy Impala hit a 14' alligator that was laying slap in the middle of the road and flipped the car over onto it's roof..Of course it probably weighed around 600 lbs..Can you imagine an armadillo weighing that much and hitting it with the car or truck...

Mike, sorry for taking time away from your fantastic work, the more I look at it the more I want it...
