Re: It's Beer Thirty
I purchased this limited edition Craftsman beer opener. It’s received more use than ALL my other tools combined.

Kim, You are definitely on a roll ! Every knife you’ve posted lately has been exceptional and beautiful. ::tu:: I also commented on Ozarks latest acquisition. I’m also a fan of LionSteel as well as many other knives made in Maniago. They are all high quality but only some appeal to me aesthetically...

lionSTEEL Jack1 just showed up today. So far, I'm a fan. 20231125_213744.jpg Oxark, I’m also a fan of LionSteel. I have one with Micarta covers. I like yours better ! Do you know the name of that model ? Does it also have a rounded back spring instead of flush ? I’ve never got a knife made in Mania...

Re: First Cup Diner!
GOOD MORNING EVERYONE 44 degrees now, high of 52. No rain. Thankful for the two hours of sleep I got. Insomnia isn’t fun. Haven’t been to my favorite diner in awhile. Prices went up (like everything else) but still reasonable. I don’t mind the 15 mile drive each way. I can chow down on a huge break...

Only about 30 years old. I bought a Craftsman Beer Opener when it came out. Probably seen more usage than any other tool I own.

Re: First Cup Diner!
Morning everyone. Open for business. 43 degrees now and high of fifty five. All the talk about sardines reminded me of the best ones I ever had. About 20 years ago, I had some right off the boat, and charcoal grilled on the pier in Portugal. Somewhat larger than those in a can. They were awesome and...

Re: Wood Lathe
Thanks Unk.
Now that I know it’s possible, I will continue to work on the lathe. I thought of getting an adjustable stool but since the correct height is important, I’ll probably just build one from 2x4 lumber. Cheaper and it will be the optimal height.

7A0ACD0E-8FD4-4C30-A4C4-7FC83D1B0B85.jpeg Some Rough Rider Reserves I have. Yes they cost more than the regular Rough Rider knives. The blades are D2 instead of the standard Rough Rider 440A. They all have gator snap. Most all use a stop pin inside to prevent the edge from hitting back spring when ...

Re: Wood Lathe
I don’t make many anymore either. I quit selling them a few years back. Since then I make them as gifts for friends and family. Now, if I stand in one spot for a while by back hurts. I’m trying to get the tool stand and a stool at a good height to turn while I’m sitting. I don’t know anyone who does...

No, not a member. When I was doing craft shows I used to buy a lot of pen kits like you show. The quality of those now days has gotten to be unreliable, so I dont buy them anymore. The last time I bought them 7 out of the 12 I ordered were defective, missing or broken parts or otherwise wouldnt wri...

Re: Comfort Knives!
I'm on the fence about buying a Jack Wolf knife. They are all made in China as far as I can tell. I can get away with buying little novelty knives being made in China, but that's about it. My husband is absolutely disgusted every time he sees a knife made in China, especially one that is patriotic ...

Re: Cigar Connoisseur
Always a great day when you refill your humidors. I’m using 3 of the 4 I have. The one I don’t use seems not to keep the proper humidity. Probably will buy another one. I’m looking at one that holds 300 cigars. The three I have hold 100 cigars each. Like knives you can never really have enough.

Re: Comfort Knives!
I’ve wondered about those Jack Wolf knives, it’s nice to see the run up is tight. I just can’t take off on another brand for collecting. I have so many brands now that I have only half, or less, of what I targeted for collecting. Just going to keep plugging away at those I am already collecting but...

Southern Slang.png Hey Q: I am a southern transplant. Not a carpet bagger, as I moved about 43 years ago so I’m a southerner with a funny accent. Yankees used “you good” in the same way as long as I can remember so I am wondering where it actually originated. I know a few folks from New Orleans and...

Re: Comfort Knives!
Shaw-Liebowitz dagger. I'd never heard of Shaw-Liebowitz until a week or two ago and I was just immediately intrigued and impressed. From what I can see his pieces are not that easy to find, so I was really excited to find this dagger. It's 7.5" long and it would certainly get the job done. It...

Re: First Cup Diner!
Good morning. We seem to be losing a number of regular diners. JP Dave just vanished after he lost his job and it appears to be fewer of us each month. People might get old and slow down collecting knives, but they still drink coffee. djknife, I’ve also noticed that participation has dropped off, b...
