Elmer Keith had a long history with guns, knives, design, hunting and writing (a good read). Guns & Ammo editor had Gil Hibben design the knife and it was made in Japan, the sheath was made here. So. if you paid for a three year subscription, you got this big, heavy handful of knife. This one was the first in a series of three. Stacked leather and aluminum handles with a full, nutted tang blade with large brass guard and pommel. The blade on this one has had some use. Deep fullers either side, 1/2 sharpened false edge with thumb ramp. Very near full blade. Perfect handle and hardware. Sheath is perfect, sewn and rivited; nice tight fit. Big package so $12.95 freight.
