ADDITIONAL INFO: This is an old Camillus pattern dating back at least to the 1946 catalog which was the first catalog Camillus published after World War II. These knives were very popular advertising knives for company in the northeastern US that manufactured felt that was used in paper production. I’m told these were large, long rolls of very heavy felt material that needed to be cut to size every time they felt was changed as part of the paper production process. This knife like most of them had celluloid handles, a pattern known as French ivory. Celluloid begins to shrink, crack and eventually off gas causing damage to the knife. Before I restored this knife, the celluloid had shrunk but had not cracked off gassed to a noticeable extent. The original advertiser on this knife was the Oar Felt Company
